How we understand and engage with the past is the result of constant negotiation with the present
We seek to explore both the forms of representation of the past, and their uses: how the past is excavated (literally and metaphorically) and expressed in relation to contemporary practices and concerns.
Due to the curtailment of research activities and in-person gatherings on campus due to Covid-19 containment efforts, the IHRC has adjusted its plans for summer 2020 and the 2020-21 academic year. We have delayed the due date for our Calls for Nominations of Keynote Speakers and for Workshops for W2020 and Summer 2021 until August 3, 2020, to enable Cluster members more time to plan and initiate activities in light of the Pandemic and its impacts. We are currently planning interim activities for late Summer 2020 and Fall 2020; please return to the website for more information in the coming weeks.
