The Poetics of Fragility: A Film by Lata Mani & Nicholás Grandi
August 21, 2019, 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm
A video contemplation on the texture, vitality and aesthetics of fragility.
Film screening (63 min) and discussion with Nicholás Grandi.
The Poetics of Fragility is a kaleidoscopic exploration of the texture, vitality and aesthetics of fragility. It interweaves stories of bodily frailty with optical vignettes of nature’s delicacy to reclaim fragility as intrinsic to existence, not something to be bemoaned or overcome. The film is conceived as a video contemplation: a way to explore the audiovisual medium as a sensuous tool for social inquiry with a philosophical impulse. The project unfolds into an artist book, a website and currently it's taking shape as an art installation which includes live performances.
Buenos Aires based Nicolás Grandi is a filmmaker, transdiciplinary artist and educator working in the field of art as liberation.
