Falling Tower: A theatrical workshop session

April 28, 2021, 3:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Over Zoom

With Yuning Liu (Playwright) and Tanya Mathivanan (Director)

This workshop session featured the work-in-progress, Falling Tower, written by Ph.D. student in Theatre and Film, Yuning Liu. Liu’s work, at completion, will be a two-act play inspired by a few families' precious heritage stories in Vancouver, with many theatrical adaptations. It is set in Vancouver’s Chinatown, and it spans sixty years from 1900 to 1960. The play explores the changes in the city from the perspective of a girl, who is a second-generation Chinese immigrant. This creative workshop session allowed the playwright and director to get feedback, and test out ideas in preparation for a full staged reading, planned for September 2021.

This workshop was the first public event association with the Falling Tower Project.

This event has taken place, and is not open for further registrations.
